For GS treatment, limey1K has a long list of negatives and AugustusM has a long list of positives.
Pre-pandemic, I never had car transfer and was met at gate only twice, but I did have close to 70% of AugustusM's other good experiences.
In the last five years, so far I have had > 90% of limey1K's experiences.
I agree on the nature of GS today (and I had it in some of the "good" years). It not only isn't what it used to be, I struggle to find much value in it beyond upgrading friends occasionally and early boarding. My IRROPs experiences lately have been particularly discouraging (which is always what I really wanted GS for).
I think the main difference I get in this thread from a level of use perspective is how much one cares about upgrades. I book up front on UAA and OAL even for personal travel. I used to maybe upgrade my wife or a kid on INTL tickets, but now I mostly book up front for that as well on whatever OAL has the best timing/price. I say that because upgrades is the one thing that CK doesn't really help all that much with relative to a EP (their 1K), but CK is better in every other measurable way relative to GS over the last ~2 years (and I'm about 50/50 between the two programs right now from a touchpoint perspective).
