Today has been a bad day for the relationship between members and the BA Executive Club. It's sad to see it unfold.
The answer to the (rhetorical?) questions above is “money, money, money”, and we aren’t BA’s honey.

If BA/IAG management have to consider how they are performing for shareholders relative to the US3 airlines, then this development should be both expected and understood to be a natural outcome in an environment where the competitive landscape is lousy for consumers and placating the financial market players is the order of the day.
