BTW: if this would only apply to UK-based BAEC members, it would open up the floodgates similar to when the elite status TP requirements for Europe outside of the UK were lower (no idea if that's still the case or not). Made good use of that back in 2007-2009. While I lived in the UK I actually worked in Finland for half the time so not entirely scamming the system

And of course an easy way out (at least for US West Coast members) would be to change to AS Mileage Plan. It does require a number of AS-operated and sold sectors though to get status.
