I'm surprised you're so confident that MGM will match Marriott status. I could maybe see Ambassador (or possibly even Titanium) getting Gold, but a ton of people I know used MGM/Hyatt to requalify for Globalist by scoring $15-$25 nights at Excaibur or Luxor, pretty much all in since we didn't have to pay resort fees or parking. MGM Gold also gets lower room rates than are available through other channels. I don't think MGM has any reason to be that generous to Marriott elites when earning and burning opportunities alone will drive some Marriott customers to stay at MGM properties.
