I am puzzled why Skippedlag.com is allowed to operate. If it is assigned an agency number from the Airlines Reporting Corporation and it is known to be promoting these faring practices, they are in violation of the terms airlines set for selling tickets. So the airlines could remedy this (for themselves) by just taking away the authority of this online agency from selling its tickets. Case done. Except if the airlines still see them as a money maker and turns a blind eye to the agency. If that is the case, it is disingenuous of the airline to punish a customer of the online agency. They should debit the agency for the difference in fare. Heaven knows, so many agencies all over the US abide by the airline rules. Seems awful for the travelers to be punished when the agency was the culprit encouraging them to buy this risky ticket.
