Similar experience as
garo --the BA report consistently said "not found" even though it was recorded as being sent on the next flight. I would have thought SOP would be to scan bags as they were placed into the holding room, which would then auto-update the tracking information to something like "Arrived at DUS" or even better "Arrived to DUS baggage holding". I mean this step is pretty basic IT, no? The amount of time wasted by all concerned because of this missing step is ridiculous.
As for
crazy8534 's question: I rarely start my journey at LHR (because I am USA-based) and so I'm not all that familiar with the T5 landside layout. I was already checked in and saw the security line and off I went. But as
corporate-wage-slave says--lesson learned. Next time I'm landside at T5, I'm going to seek out the legendary FW whether or not I need it.
