Hello everyone,
Ludovic Bassal, a french
vidéaste released a great vlog-style documentary about the cabin crew life at
Air France.
He followed Marion, an AF cabin crew on a flight to YYZ onboard 777-200ER
F-GSPP and A350
F-HTYI on the return last may.
The documentary is
very detailed, offering great views of the cabin and revealing details about the cabin crew duties, service protocol and onboard product.
You can find it here :
The most interesting thing, is that the documentary reveals some of the content inside the
Cabin Crew iPad or CrewPad, or Marco,
or whatever they called it now.
We can see for exemple,
.
- Indications on the pax seat : VIP, staff or statuses. (I wonder if G stands for Gold or GP.)
- How the lunch service protocol works.
- Numbers of HIPP and ULTI onboard.
- Number of infants, pax with reduced mobility, inadmissible passenger (refused at immigration), medical clearance forms, etc.
- Infos on the aircraft.
One very interesting dot is "Continuité Client" which are specific infos about the client and/or this flight for this client. Information that are written before the flight by the service line (or customer service). I guess
"Client is going on honeymoon / Client was very disappointed on previous flight , give extra attention. / Careful, client will trash talk you on FlyerTalk tomorrow. Fake a smile"
On the "Fiche récapitulative de vol" we can also find infos about crew positioning onboard, which crew attends which door, the languages spoken by the crew and their roles during the flight. It shows that on a flight operated by a 777-200ER 28J 24W, there are 10 cabin crew members, 4 in J and 6 in Y. (One less than on American Airlines 777 and two less than on British Airways 777 I believe, please correct me if wrong.) / (You can also spot her folding the document that details what to do in case of really unruly passenger.)
On top of all this, the crew seems very charming on the two flights and many explanations about the Y service are given.
I really recommend to anyone who wants to discover a bit more about the service onboard. The English subtitles will be auto-generated. Understanding french is a plus to be able to watch this without subtitles.
Enjoy !
Would someone reveal to me what H. Contrib. means on the iPad ?
