This is also a reminder when traveling long distance, esp with a kid, to buy travel insurance.
I did buy travel insurance but it didnt include cancellation. Only medical expenses and delay etc.
This is the first time traveling with kids where we had both Delay (12 hour, resulting in 1 lost hotel night, 3 new hotel bookings- all at airports, and partial car rental, 2 local flight rebookings) and now a 2 night resort cancellation. We typically do 3+ international trips a year never with any issues.
This is also going to be my first time filing claim with Chase and/or Travel Insurance for all this Delay/Cancellation along with filing with AA CSR when I get back home this weekend. Fingers crossed I'll at least get this resort back.
