Pre-Pandemic (AKA the good 'ole days) I was getting RT in J from LAX to MNL in the low to mid $3,000's. It was mostly AA metal to Tokyo and then JAL. Right now PR is the cheapest (No thanks, did that once, never again) and those miles are mostly useless (although can be credited to NH.)

Ah the fares I used to use were ex-Philippines, they were full flex though so I could just book whatever and then change later when I knew when I needed to be back in Manila next. The reverse ex-USA was always quite a bit higher when I was doing that on a regular basis. I only bought ex-USA once though from a consolidator just to start the chain and then kept them going on the ex-CEB R/T fares.
