I've followed that route's pricing for nearly 20 years, since NW (DL) pulled their 747-400 service it's never been very competitive. PR has the direct line with subpar product and service and JL/AA better service and hard product but transferring in TYO like the old days. But JL doesn't tend to publish many really sexy competitive J fares out of SE Asia anymore (even when rival NH does) and AA just matches with the JV, therefore PR has had no reason to drop the price since they have the convenience factor. This could flip that script again.
