Back down at the adult pool for a bit before dinner.
quite pleasant now in the shade ( sun will disappear from the pool area by mid afternoon due to the grand hyatt blocking it just now. The beach ( sand is soft (unlike the aand at the WA dubai palm.last year) but can have a few sharpish stones underwater.
the spa staff were handing out flyers advertising a manicure or pedicure for Aed 165 which does not look bad given its a conrad. Might look into it for tomorrow.
haze seems to be clearing again now.

Level 45 menu

Tonights dinner at level 45
again the only person in the lounge at this time. Staff came round asking if I needed more food as service stops at 730pm. Coffee/ tea and soft drinks availabke till lounge closing time. This does me ok.. had the champagne, a mai tai and a sparkling water. Finishing off with a coffee. There will be a macaroon in the room for later as turndown service was just coming to do my room when I left to go down to level 45 lounge
After dinner went for a walk to the founders memorial.walked out by the avenue mall exit down the path by the water feature then across the road to the adnoc first out rig then across the road again and along to the memorial.
streets had illuminations up for the Islamic New year.
Decided not to visit it that night but popped in and got talking to the woman at the reception desk. It turn out that she was a volunteer at the expo 2020 in dubai last year. She was generous to give me a bottle of water to take away ( I initially refused as j was just going back to the hotel but she politely insisted so I accepted) as it was still hot and humid at 830pm.
walked back to the hotel and stopped off at level 45 for a diet coke with ice.
Woke up at 730am to hear men talking through the window.opened the curtain to see men in chairs cleaning the windows on the floor above mine and along one room.

The lunch box. Served fron 1130 to 1330. Similar to the dinner box but contents are different. No nibbles. To be honest with breakfast it is a bit too much food but i have a pedicure from 3pm to 4pm. Might skip afternoon tea today.

had the pedicure ( very good for 160aed) but they do not room charge so had to go to the room to get my wallet then the key card did not work in the lift so back to the lobby for replying ( no delay).
not hungry for the full afternoon tea as I have an early dinner at the japanese restaurant but no issues just having a couple of scones with a Caffè late then back to the pool

Bento box at dinner at tori no su. Very good

The bento box was very good at aed200
The sake came in a tray with ice and the waiter poured something instead box and clouds of dry ice appeared for a few seconds very neat.
wine and water are expensive ( aed 95 for the sake but it came with the show
water 75cl of evian sparking was 33aed
Mochi ice cream was aed 45
although not advertised I got a gold/diamond 15% discount on the food.
I could have saved money by not having wine ( esp with happy hour drinks in level 45 before hand) but it was an atmosphere and the only food i have bought here in 4days given breakfast and level 45 access so its all good


Thursday morning- a lot less humid than last night.i walked to the founders memorial and was dripping in sweat by the time I got there .also a lot less haze today so beautiful views of the sea and islands being reclaimed from the sea. Still v hot c 40degrees .
pool and hotel getting busier ( national holiday tomorrow friday) but lots of spare sun lounges.lots of umbrellas also. Water is refreshing and comfortable you can see the window cleaners in action on chairs going down the buildings in the towers complex and the grand hyatt next door

View from my sunlounger over the beach and water. My conrad dubai tote bag is useful. The conrad abu dhabi sells cool bags but are a little expensive at aed210 each( you can use one free whilst at the pool though)


Inland view from level 45 lounge. Intercontinental hotel in the middle distance. A few tables look up the corniche but the glass is tinted.windows still to be cleaned.

Thursday evening- another private lounge session..tge mixed fruits is a constant at dinner but everything else changes.lamb sliders excellent.less haze tonight so have a beautiful view of marina mall, rixos marina Hotel ( looks a bit like the Atlantis the palm in dubai) and the corniche with the Islamic New year Street illuminations lit.
