And given BA have carefully picked their examples in the marketing, I'll go ahead and carefully choose one myself.

Here's the price for a 2 night return trip to Dublin in October. Currently a Gold would earn 1,250 Avios for the return.

Under the new scheme, they will earn.... *drum roll*.... 144 Avios.

An 88% reduction.
