Completed a five-night stay here last week - this was my family’s third consecutive July at this resort and we continue to like it.

We booked a forest view suite last August for around $300/nt. We were upgraded to a valley view suite (3 for 3 on this). Noise from the connecting room can be heard clearly in the living room, but the bedroom is quiet. The room looked exactly as pictured in my prior reviews.

We arrived 145 on a Sunday and had to wait around an hour for our room but could use the pool in the meantime. We didn’t need a late checkout.

The buffet is pretty broad and the food is good, but it’s very much the same day to day and that’s true over the last three summers (the only items that really change are the smoothie, and one or two hot items). Service is good and there were no charges at all.

The pool are is basically the same, although the bubbles in hot tubs 1 and 2 (the family
hot tubs) were not working. There were a few floats and toys this year which I don’t recall from prior years. The hotel had a couple of large corporate meetings in house and there seemed to be few other guests.. the pool was dead quiet much of the time.

We hiked to the Palisades Village and then to High Camp via Shirley Trail. The last mile or so of the trail was all snow which made it a bit challenging.. and certainly a unique experience for us East Coasters to hike on snow in July.

Traffic in Tahoe City is a mess due to a gas line replacement project. It’s normally bad in the afternoons, but it’s REALLY bad this year. I would definitely avoid traveling east of Tahoe City during peak hours until they finish.

My family plans to return next summer and I’d be glad to answer any questions.
