I find CW food mostly ok, but I've never been blown away by it. I think the portions could be better. The only truly inedible J class meal I have had in recent times was a totally weird chicken (I think) meal on CX on a HKG-BKK flight. It was absolutely vile and I couldn't finish it- and I'm like a dog and normally hoover up anything you put in front of me.
