While conformance has its flaws, I was once saved by it, believe it or not.

I might have mentioned this on here before, but.. I was coming in on CX to T3 (had to wake up the people there to turn on the lights and unlock doors, but I digress), reach T5 flight connections only to find an absolute zoo. I was connecting to the morning flight to LBA (separate ticket, full fare, last minute change of plans) and got to the BP scanning point. After that, I realised this was an impossible endeavour, and left the queue to seek help from the F transfer desk to see if they could get me to MAN instead. The superb BA angel spotted noted that "oh, but you are showing as having passed conformance... Let me see what I can do to get you to your flight!".

What followed next was her hijacking one of the OneWorld Connection people, asking them to take me along, rushing to the front of the security queue, and calling the gate to make them stay open. As her primary responsibility was of course the passenger she was assigned she told me to run and don't look back - 'you know where to go anyway'.. There is me running in a suit with my carryon, gasping for air only to find the gate closing up.. And then re-opening for me! Down the lift, onto the jet bridge to meet the pursor "Oh Mr. SKT-DK, nice of you to join us - would you care for a glass of water, sir?" - full flight, and my 1D waiting for me..

I do not think I have ever been as exhausted in my life, but this truly was BA staff going above and beyond! - And my legs were still shaking when I reached the office in Leeds
