Apologies to jump on this thread, but it seemed the best place to put this.

Coming back from our family holiday last Friday and all 7 of our bags didn’t appear. I also had the same issues with the QR code and baggage call centre.

Now it is Monday, they are still looking for the bags and my question is about being able to buy some clothes, toiletries etc and claim this back. If this had been the outbound leg, my Amex and travel insurance would have covered this, but as it was the journey home, both appear to say that they will not cover this and it sits with the airline.

Does anyone have any experience on this and would BA pay out if I were to buy some items for my family and I?
