It's ridiculous that, in this day and age of technology's you can be deemed as too late for your flight at flight connections based on the original scheduled departure time, not the actual ETD. I know delayed flights can pull in but if that happened and you missed it you'd end up in the same place, customer services.
The IT should be clever enough to give you the chances it could still 'hold' a seat on a backup flight (Twitter team have done this for me several times), and then release that if you make the original flight
ITs ok a CAD saying there's later flights to MAN but that's way different to their actually being any spare seats, last time this happened I got a rental and drove up, billing BA for it.
It is based on ETD, the issue is, when your connection was rebooked, it may have been showing as on time meaning you’re not bounced back at security due to being too late but because you don’t have a seat.
