We stayed just after reopening and found the location and all for our purposes far better (and quieter) than Times Square and that property (ICTS) looked a tad run down back then (at least judging by our friends room who stayed there), but admittedly that was in 2016. This being NYC, nothing is ever super quiet for sure and I agree that at IC Barclay they missed the opportunity to install better sound proofing between rooms and the windows. Anyways, jump to current situation and IC TS seems to be less penny pinching over IC Barclay from recent reports and turned the corner on service even + no legionnaires disease in the water.
Good assessment I will have to go back and look at the photos.I looked over this past year and maybe saw older photos @ Barclay.
It wasn't showing the 200M but maybe I missed something. It would be extraordinary if they actually sound proofed the place but that costs a fortune. But now with Legionnaire D as a possible welcome amenity sorry hard pass! Not that or carbon monoxide please!

Agree IC Times Square has been more generous to me as an Ambassador then when I was a Royal Amb.
Yes they have some well beaten rooms still with chipped furniture
Half the rooms were renovated on the lower floors and the upper floors not as of yet.
I'm fine in the older room as the higher you get and as far away from 8th ave position wise
its quiet enough even for a light sleeper like myself. The only quiet rooms I experienced at Barclay are the lesser rooms I'm sad to say
