There is no ambiguity when WAS is used as an airport code -- WAS covers DC-area airports just like NYC covers New York City, PAR for Paris, etc. See: https://wikitravel.org/en/Metropolit..._Airport_Codes

Granted this can cause confusion e.g. post 8, will ping the forum mods to update the title to put the airport codes in caps.
