Passengers enjoyed a complimentary cuppa last week on BA flights from London to Cairo and Amman. The new service is likely to be rolled out on the carrier’s other short-haul routes.
BA sources say Doyle would like to reintroduce free tea and coffee across the entire short-haul network, but Cruz reduced the galley space in many new jets to cram in more seats, so there is very little room to store tea, coffee and cups, and to make hot drinks. For now, Doyle is concentrating on longer routes, such as London to Istanbul, on which BA uses larger planes.
Cairo and Amman seem to be exclusively served by A321neo/A320neo respectively.

So maybe the problem isn’t the new aircraft but the way the densification was done on the ceo’s?
