You will clear security again here and be back at the main hall for DTW.
Thank you for replying. Are there any recent flyers willing to confirm/edit these steps (this is the return on my 1st international trip - my first encounter with US Customs)
- Walk towards customs area
- Descend 2 levels to international arrivals
- Use an APC to scan passport
- Enter amount of each item purchased internationally and brought back into the US
- Completion of APC process prints a receipt
- Place receipt in passport and proceed to a line where you present receipt and passport to CBP agent
- Proceed to luggage carousel
- Retrieve luggage
- Potentially a CBP agent may request to examine checked and/or carryon luggage
- Locate the place to drop off checked baggage (is the drop-off location air-line specific?)
- Exit Customs area
- Use Escalator or Elevator to go up 2 levels to Departures
- Proceed through TSA security
- Locate departure gate
- My itinerary includes a 5-hour lay-over - good suggestions for dinner? I'm flying Delta.
