My only prior stay (7 or so years ago) I got an Opera View room, but I recognize that times have changed (and some think times have really changed at this hotel) so I am interested in what others have experienced recently. I have a lot of Hyatt points (which aren't getting any more valuable) and don't really want to pay the cash rate if I have reasonably solid odds of getting an upgrade to Harbor or Opera View, but would be bummed to have the standard no view room. I'd also be willing to pay the difference in cash rates between 1 King Bed and Harbor View to guarantee at least Harbor View, but it's unclear what the difference is (or if PH Sydney even permits that) since they don't publish 1 King Bed rates. Thanks in advance for any insights!
This has been covered many times. Unless sold out, you will unlikely get this room type. Even non status guests are upgraded to Harbour View.
You used to be able to confirm an upgrade for $150AUD, but this may have changed.
