The reason you don't see a rate for the "1 King Room" is that they literally won't sell those to people paying cash. They are rooms that have no view whatsoever except for the street. These are the rooms at the back of the hotel and are reserved solely for people paying with points.
If you want a view, any kind of view, contact the hotel directly and see if they'll sell you an upgrade, a la the Park in the Maldives. Otherwise stay somewhere else. Great hotel, but certainly not one to stay at on points if you actually want a view! Some of the travel bloggers have reviewed the points rooms, but most don't because they get upgraded to Harbor View or better and provide those positive reviews in exchange for the upgrade. Win-win.
Thanks, but with all due respect this isn’t particularly helpful. I’ve stayed on a points rate and gotten a Harbor View room, so it’s not just “points bloggers” that get the upgrade. I’m curious if any Globalists here that stay with some regularity on points rates can share their experience with “upgrades” to a Harbor/Opera view room? (You’re welcome to share your emotionally charged opinions about the hotel and the 1980s bathrooms in the room I specifically said I don’t want to stay in, but please don’t think you’re being helpful in doing so.)
