Three agents (two regular and one web support) could not get UA7939. They finally all suggested me booking UA-operated flight. Looks like in past two days, UA agents were overwhelmed by IT and weather-related issues.

I was able to select seats on AC website, but AC did not show any ticketing or booking class info. At the same time, while I was waiting for AC-operated FRA-YVR to be confirmed, I could not change or cancel the return FRA-SFO on United.com. Had to call an agent to put me on UA-operated flight after a few hours.
Normally how soon AC should confirm this segment booking from United?
