How would the plane factor in? Looking to book J ex JFK with a connection to Schengen (ARN) at the end of the year. KLM would be a 787, Air France a 777-300 (likely with the new cabin). Return would be Air France either way. Flying with two older relatives, one with mobility issues. Is the overnight on the 787 notably less taxing than on the 777?
I actually did the KLM outbound/AF return last December and found the KLM food measurably better and the crew much more attentive. I spent the connection in the non-Schengen lounge and while it’s certainly a less compelling place to kill time than the Air France 2F lounge, the nap pods were quite welcome.
