I am still waiting for my flights on 3 Jan to clear. There are now only two seats remaining in FC on each flight. I imagine a number of A fares have been sold.
As stated before, a PM on Y fare could have cleared at time of booking under the old or new rules. I think that a PM on Y fare is a better customer to reward than the FO on an A fare just trying to get MQM. A fares don't work in my market. However, many of the A fares are paying less than my Y fare. With two seats, I should still clear. I guess a window bulkhead in coach is probably better than coach. However, any IRROPS over the weekend and I am totally hosed.
This is one of those areas that Delta needs to fix. They have had a full year to fiddle around with this unlimited upgrades and varying rules by fare basis. I sure preferred the old days when GM and FO did not have unlimited upgrades so they would be reticent to use them on short flights, even if they had an expensive ticket.
