For future ref - all above entirely correct (not surprised). Took about 1h15m from landing (wheels down) to T1 departure area. No checked bags but others on flight with checked bags were on same bus as me. Immigration and security all moved quickly — it’s Japan after all. 3.5 hour connection was ample time. Possibly doable in 2, but that’s cutting it close.
