Let me do you one worse. I called AMEX Travel to book a fun little fare and wanted to use my voucher that had been issued by the airline. No worries of course but because I had included a codeshare from another airline I was told I would have up to a day before my ticket issued. Even better news, I would have $220 of my voucher left over.

The next day and without an issued ticket I call back in. It turns out one of my legs on the original voucher had a $150 change fee attached so I would need to pay that to use the voucher. Okay no issues, that'll come out of my $220 voucher... ha yeah no the fare had gone up and I now needed to use the $220 voucher AND pay $190 on top of it... THANKS AMEX TRAVEL
