it’s amazing that some agencies or independant agents could offer perks that some platinum or Diamond members are not even sure to get. And above all, such customers are not even loyal but free agents jumping from one hotel chain to another with great benefits (of course paying for them). In the end it is neither good for the hotels or the loyal customers.
i have spent years in the industry and we have always repeated to our customers that they should always book with us rather than third party and in return, not only we would reward them with perks and points but our channels will also offer the best rates.
