Looking to book a flight that arrives in SYD about 4 hours before the flight to LHR.
They won't check you through from BNE to LHR via SYD on separate tickets.
You will want ample time in SYD so I would probably book something a little earlier to allow plenty of time for the connection.
Also, you'll have access to the QF F lounge, so you will want to have some time in there, after going through security and all the palaver. Four hours sounds like enough but if anything goes wrong, you're pretty much on your own. I'd be trying to book something with maybe an hour or two more just so you won't have to worry at all.
