Right before I posted, I figured out the limitation on lifetime miles when no flying UA (b/c it mattered on the AC ticket purchased to go to LHR. Actually, for that case, the 2 kids' tickets were cheaper than adult tickets.)

If a knowledgeable person sees this: what should the PQP for a LH Y flight from LHR-MUC be (bought directly from LH)? Based on distance/5, it seems UA isn't giving enough PQP (they are awarding 89 PQP, but distance is 587 mi, so 117 PQP)
