If the bookings were all in your name you should’ve just checked them all in yourself received all the keys and handed them to your extra guests. I’m just completely failing to understand why you wouldn’t just check them all in? Whenever I’ve booked an additional room for a friend or family member under my name I always check them in.
I can't disagree with you more. Yes, the OP could have had a more peaceful night If if they checked all the rooms in then just added the family members to the reservations. Obviously they didn't know to do that or didn't think. That doesn't mean that the rooms should be given away. That's insane. I've had many a time when my flight was delayed when I was traveling for business and I checked in at 2 or 3:00 a.m. never had an issue. Never like this.
Sometimes they would say oh our computer is doing the nightly audit so we'll have to get you a receipt later or something like that. But never did they give my room away like this. This is not the OP's fault at all.
Honestly this reads like you have zero compassion. I don't know you personally so I'm assuming that I'm wrong.
