At this point, is there a strong reason to get a credit card from Capital One? Chase started a new credit card for people with no credit history - Chase Freedom Rise. This is not a secured credit card, and it comes with a nice rewards program. It might be worth trying for your son.
Thanks... biggest reason is the rewards. 3% on dining, entertainment and groceries, which will be the bulk of his expenses. I'd like him to get a card to build his credit history, so we'll need to look at some other options (like the Chase Freedom Rise) to accomplish this.
