I tried this place last week when they opened at 5:00am (actually 10 minutes late) to get from my canceled EWR-YYZ flight to the AC flight at 6:00am. The agent had no idea how to do it and needed to walk out to someone at the regular check-in desk for help. Plus there was just one agent, which meant the line of people waiting probably didn't save much time.
Unless it was a 016 ticket, probably because you need to work with an AC agent for a cancelled AC flight?
I don't recall a dedicated 1K agent. Then again, unlike bidding to work inside the United Club (which is now part of premium service group), I don't think they take experience into staffing the different lines.
