I've put significant spend on my Chase Southwest cards the past several years, but that's because it helps me reach elite status and Companion Pass. As long as I'm rolling CP the points are worth almost twice as much. With that even 1x spend starts to get interesting, let alone spend in 2x categories. As for UA cards, though, 1x spend is worthless (after nabbing the SUB) and even 2x categories are uncompetitive with the value I can earn on other cards-- including other Chase cards like the IHG biz card.
