Which route/airline did you book and which class?
Upgraded LH FRA-BOG from Business (P) to First (O)

How many pax and how many award miles?
1 pax, 75,000 award miles

How many days/weeks/months did you book in advance?
5 months in advance

Have you been able to book your preferred dates of travel?
Yes.

Were you happy with the award booking procedure (e.g. online/by phone)?
Online upgrade was not available, even though an F award ticket for the routing BOG-FRA on the very date was available online. Thus, I called the MM hotline and asked for the upgrade. First the agent said that my booking was not eligible for an upgrade because the flight was operated by a different airline (

). I explained that only the domestic connecting flight in Colombia was operated by another airline (AV) but the flight I asked to be upgraded for was operated by LH and the ticket was issued on LH stock. After a couple of minutes and checks and whatever he finally confirmed the upgrade (no waiting list, confirmed booking right away). So after all a good experience after some bad ones in the past...
