Global Entry, Facial Recognition Didn't Work had to do Fingerprints…
I have been a Global entry member. In the past few trips, I had seen facial recognition work at Chicago’s Ohare airport.
But yesterday’s arrival was a little different. Facial recognition didn’t seem to work, I had to go through the CBP officer who asked me to do fingerprints. Don’t know if this is unusual or I was randomly picked up for check. Is this unusual?
Also, at customs I declared I had limes in my bags. Was referred to Agriculture, the agents there told me to not bring the limes anymore. However they asked me to submit my passports, as they had to do some paperwork. I didn’t forget to ask, if I had risked my GE membership. He said ‘NO’. As they were able to find what I had declared.
My question, then why did they (department of agriculture) need my passport for?
