Oh, the optics of that'll be be wildly popular; pass the buck and make the flying public pay even more than it already is for factors neither they nor the airline they're flying can control.
Canada already has high enough air ticket taxes & fees thankyouverymuch and piling on even more will create a disincentive to fly, especially for shorter distances, so would like to see the problem solved upstream rather than expecting the buck to always stop with the consumer.
