Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked 1 King Classic and received 1 King Classic Atrium View on high floor (designated for Ambassadors)
How are the rooms?
Pretty normal to be honest, moderately decorated, convenient placement of sockets next to the desk and the bed. The capsule coffee machine is nice. Our floor is actually above the atrium roof, so the view is half Atrium glass ceiling half views of nearby skyscrapers; at least there's good natural light.
How is the exec. lounge?
N/A
What was good and what was bad?
Good:
- Got the room as soon as available at 9am which is helpful.
- Could use Amb dining credit (25AUD) towards buffet breakfast (35AUD), which the choice and quality is good.
- Lobby and common area are well-decorated.
- Staff are friendly.
- Convenient location to train station and CBD on foot or by free trams.
Bad:
- The bathroom is not much different from the CP/HI I stayed before. Water pressure is also mediocre at best.
- The pool is a bit underwhelming than I would have expected, e.g. could have offered drinking water instead of just one inside the gym. It's more like a business hotel, but at least it's functional for simple workout. (also because they only have very small area for shower/bathroom it's more gender-friendly than they told me)
Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Used the weekend cert but still find it a bit expensive for the limited features I appreciate. Would try other options in the city first.
