Negotiating a rate for a 3+ week stay?
Apologies if this topic has been discussed before, the searching didn't turn up what I was looking for.
Recently got news that our regular long term stay hotel will not be available during the time we typically go. As we were dealing directly with a manager who automatically upgraded us and gave us a good rate, we really never had to do too much.
Is it gauche/likely to get me laughed out of the room(so to speak) if I were to contact a hotel manager at a different location and ask if we can negotiate a rate for a 3 + week stay? Is this something people would normally do? I have no idea, and I don't want to start off on the wrong foot with a manager if it isn't.
Thank you.
