I understand that all these new hotels constructed at Nagasaki is due to the Shinkansen. Shinkansen is predicted to bring more visitors to city of Nagasaki. At JR Nagasaki station beside new Marriott opening in 2024, there are Hilton Nagasaki, JR Kyushu Hotel Nagasaki, and Hotel New Nagasaki. Not to forget all other hotels in the city of Nagasaki, including usual APA Hotels and Dormy Inns. I hope it will be healthy competition which will keep the cost reasonable. As reported in a press, a manager at a business hotel near Nagasaki station was worried that city does not have enough supply of hotel workers.

I am entertaining the idea of a trip to Nagasaki again to give Gunkanjima another try.
