Here my comparison (just my 2 cents...):
- Lounge in BKK:
The CX lounge is a bit nicer with significantly better food and drink offerings than the TG Biz lounges.
- Lounge in HKG:
No comparison. CX is nice, TX uses Plaza Premium which is a dirty dump, overcrowded, with disgusting food offerings
- Seat on the Plane
If you get one of the long haul configurations the seat on TG is much nicer than on CX. They seem to use regional A330s. The CX seat is adequate if you don't want to take a nap.
- Food/service:
I found the CX crews far more polished, efficient and professional than the TG crews. Also the food on CX was tastier and of higher quality, but presentation on TG was nicer.
Overall both airlines delivered a reasonalble good product but I will pick CX in the future (assuming prices are sinilar and the schedule works for me) mainly because of the lounges.
Again, just my personal opinion.
Thanks for the interesting comparison, the Plaza Premium lounge at HKG is beyond disgusting & pax need to keep complaining, after all the airlines are paying for this c..p…..
EK blows TG & CX out of the water on this route, except for the same lounge as TG currently at HKG, until their lounge reopens after a refit
