Boreas, sorry I meant to reply earlier. I have spent a lot of time with lawyers in my career (not a criminal!) and I have recognised with age that the best ones tend to be the least definitive about their answers….! Having said that, I think that what you are describing is probably going to be fine, partly because I believe that automatic posting of bonus TPs and manual intervention by CS/BAH staff won’t be able or inclined to recognise that booking as being outwith the T&Cs. However, I think that ‘within’ could probably be taken to refer to being inside the substantive legs of the booking (i.e. the international component). All it would take would be for BA to decide not to honour these types of bookings to cause some bother for people who need the TPs but I would say that their actions to date suggest no real inclination towards that attitude. If you like, I think the recent changes are some ‘window dressing’ designed to placate non-BAH entities.
As it happens, I have an EDI-LHR, overnight LHR followed by LHR-USA flight coming up which was booked before the changes so I will report the outcome.
