But if somebody is buying a one-way ticket at less than 48 hours notice, then there is definitely something special going on in
their life; hence, they are likely to pay a hefty price for the ability to travel at such short notice.
The less time there is to a flight departure, the higher the price will be. The "cheaper" fare buckets have advance purchase restrictions; with less than 48 hours to go, you are only going to be able to buy from the most expensive farebuckets on offer on any route.

Nobody would.
They would either book a one-way on easyJet, or buy a return with no intention of flying the return portion (though booking it on a date that they may be able to actually use)
