Typically if I need to be in a somewhat upscale dress at my destination, I usually fly comfortable and change at my destination. For one, that lessens the chance of something happening like a spill during travel. The exception to this is that for a short flight like a DC-NYC/BOS Shuttle then it may be easier to wear the suit for travel.
x2. I'd rather take an earlier flight or even fly the day before than fly geared up. More often, I'll fly home in a suit, but outbound I try my hardest to change at destination.
