I’m Exec Plat on AA and it seems like in the past 4-5 months there has been a dramatic decline in upgrade success, admittedly my 12 month spend has fallen off a bit, so not at the top of the EP heap, and now that elite status extends to travel companions I was expecting to be impacted, but I had no idea it would be SO dramatic.

on one route I usually fly about one a week/once every other week (same days/flights) I’d say I used to be upgraded 50% of the time pre check-in and get cleared at the gate the another 50% of the time, for a 75% likelihood of upgrade. Now, I never clear in advance, and I’ll be like 12th in the upgrade list. my success rate has gone from 75% to literally 0%. It feels like I have platinum status now and I’d almost be inclined to say that AAs systems weren’t recognizing my executive platinum status if I didn’t know any better.

Are others out there experiencing this?
