does Qatar Airways have the worst IT in the industry?

I can't figure out whether their booking system is thoroughly incompetent or purposefully malicious by design in some aspects.
Case in point: I'm trying to book an award seat, at "flexi rate" of 2x Avios. Cost is 161500 Avios + $290 fees.
I don't have enough points, so it shows me the Miles + Cash option:
" Total price 161500 Avios + 31220.00 BDT
You have 91590 Avios
Total trip price with equivalent to 69910 Avios
91590 Avios + 198311.00 BDT "

So they're quoting 91590 Avios + $1840 total, with $1550 for ~70000 Avios.

However, in the payment page, the amount is suddenly "BDT 365402.0" / $3390, with no notice about any increase. I can't figure out how or why.
And if I hadn't noticed, I might've entered my card info and paid it unknowingly.

I tried the app, and the final payment page there quotes a meager $169442 for those 70000 Avios, at 242 cents per point.

Is this amateur programming, or is QR hoping someone will just hit pay without noticing the changed amounts in the last page?
