Hello. I just recently booked two Main Cabin RT tickets from ORD - GLA through Delta.com, but the flights will be on KLM. When looking at the flights on my Delta app and homepage, I am not given the option to upgrade seat class using either cash or miles. No, online seats upgrades with miles or cash are only available on Delta operated flights. This is noted in the terms & conditions on delta.com at
https://www.delta.com/us/en/skymiles...rades-and-more. as one of the conditions where online seat upgrades are not available.
The only way to use miles to upgrade to business class with KL/AF/VS operated flights is to upfare up to either a Premium Economy fare (if there is a Premium Economy cabin on flight) or a pricey Y/B/M coach class fare (if there is not), and then hope for upgrade availability on flight (you can check with an agent before upfaring) and they apply a Mileage Upgrade Award.
