My situation -- I can't link my AP account number to my UR account. I had this problem during the last transfer promo in November. Spent 6 weeks trying to figure it out with Chase and Aeroplan. No luck. Never worked despite frustrating emails from Chase telling me to make sure my name and address match. Everything matches. Since there are no human beings at Chase to speak to -- even if you call, the agent will just email the back office -- and I kept getting templated emails back from them. Eventually, I just gave up and didn't transfer anything.
With this new promo -- I decided to just create a new Aeroplan account since Chase seems to be unable to solve this issue. The plan is to transfer the points to the new AP account, then call AP to merge the accounts together. I've confirmed with AP that they'll do this if the accounts are in the same name / address. As far as Chase is concerned, will the 10% AP Chase card transfer bonus post if the account number on that card is different from the UR AP account?
Thus, my question, if anyone has two different AP accounts on their profile (UR vs Chase AP) and if they got the 10% bonus??
I ended up trying to just do a 50k transfer to see what would happen. The 50K transferred within minutes to the new AP account and the 20% bonus posted nearly instantly too. I'm now waiting to see if the 10% bonus will post. I see others have been waiting more than 10 days for that. Has anyone tried to call AP to investigate?
