That would be an easy decision: yes.
I just was looking at prices for my next trip Germany to LAX in August (1 stop max)
BA/AA (yuck) was below 5000 Euro
BA was typically 5000-6000 Euro
LH and LX 10000-11000 Euro
AF already sold out most days, otherwise 16000-19000 Euro
2000 more: yes. 8000 more: no. For this trip I even would consider BA if the plane has the new F because of the price (not because of the product).
